TECHNOLOGY / Dispatch

Our order entry and dispatch areas were among the first we automated. This powerful software allows us to capture in-depth information on each call and to follow this information clearly throughout the life of your order. Our dispatchers are in constant contact with our drivers through the use of Mobile Data Units. We were the first Sameday Company in Canada to use this technology and our accountability to our customers has been greatly increased as a result. After the order is entered, our dispatchers send it to our drivers on their MDU, where they have the ability to constantly update the status of their call while our dispatchers can monitor the overall progress through colour coded screens. Our drivers complete the call and enter the POD at which point the order leaves the dispatch screen and moves to accounting. This technology has enabled us to do away with waybills, and much of the paperwork formerly associated with transportation.
